We’d like to take a few minutes to update you on what’s happening at OBCC as we navigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
First, in times of uncertainty and crisis, we rest in the knowledge of a firm foundation. Our faith is in God and God’s provision. We are not to live in fear, but through prayer we can find God’s peace and strength. Our Pastors Relations Committee met on Monday to prayerfully consider the course of action we should take. It is not our goal to create fear and hype, but we also want to be wise and prepared. We dearly love those who are very vulnerable to this pandemic. So, in light of the announcements from those dealing with this Public Health issue locally as well as nationally, and to protect the wellbeing of the entire congregation OBCC will suspend ALL Services and Church Sponsored events until further notice. We will continue to monitor the developing situation and keep you informed to what is happening in the life of your church.
You won’t have to miss a Sunday sermon because it will be provided as usual on OBCC’s Facebook page, Olive Branch Community Church Bakersfield. There, you can hear the message, comment and visit with one another. You can also continue to worship through giving of your tithes and offerings by mailing a check to the church office or give online at OliveBranchcc.org. We will also upload the message to our website so you can go there to view it during the week if needed. Please continue to pray for health, wisdom and safety for our community.
The church office will remain open for our regular office hours. If you need help of any type, or if you just want to talk about this crisis we’re facing, please feel free to contact us or talk with your brothers and sisters in Christ. We are here for each other.
As the body of Christ walking through these days filled with questions let’s remember to follow the command in 2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
